The subject line said "From Daine about the socks," and although he didn't know any Daine he knew at least one Diane, having slept with her just the previous week. Socks? What was this about socks?
        He clicked and the message came up:-
        "DO YOU WISH TO REFORMAT YOUR PLANET? CLICK YES/NO."
        He blinked at the message, trying to figure out the product. Viagra? Personalized T-shirts? Ten billion dollars in unemployed cash stuck behind some central African firewall? No. There was nothing apart from the choice.
        "Can't be worse than what we've got now," he said, and clicked YES.
        If he'd been using a decent operating system, it might have worked. But as it is, ten million years later, we can still hear him screaming, faintly, stuck forever behind the Blue Screen of Death.
